The AAX plugin lives at C:\Program Files\Common Files\Avid\Audio\Plug-Ins on Windows and /Library/Application Support/Avid/Audio/Plug-Ins on macOS. Relaunch Pro Tools, let the first-launch plugin scan complete, then load MIDI Agent on an Instrument track. From there, type a natural language prompt describing your desired melody or chord progression with specific parameters like key, scale, and complexity; drop in existing MIDI files to generate variations and extensions; or use audio to MIDI conversion to transcribe recordings. Configure your API provider by adding your own keys or subscribing to MIDI Agent Pro for managed service, then generate MIDI that appears directly in your Pro Tools session for editing and refinement.
